What does 'raw' mean? Is STRND LAB hair really raw?

Raw hair is human hair that has never been chemically processed — no perms, no relaxers, no acid baths, no silicone coating. It's collected directly from a single donor and minimally cleaned. Yes, every STRND LAB bundle is genuinely raw, ethically sourced from a trusted supplier we've vetted in person.

How long does the hair last?

With proper care (sulfate-free products, silk pillowcase, heat protectant, gentle washing), STRND LAB raw hair lasts 2+ years. Many of our customers get 3 years out of a single set. See our care guide for the full routine.

Can I dye, bleach, or color the hair?

Yes. Raw virgin hair takes color beautifully because the cuticle is intact and unprocessed. We strongly recommend going to a professional colorist for any major lift (e.g. dark to blonde) and always doing a strand test first.

What lengths and textures do you carry?

Currently we carry RAW STRAIGHT and RAW WAVY in 18", 20", and 22". More lengths and textures (curly, lace closures, frontals) are coming soon — join our email list to hear about new drops first.

How many bundles do I need?

It depends on your install style and length:
16"–20": 2–3 bundles
22"–24": 3 bundles
26"+: 3–4 bundles
For frontals or full sew-ins, add an extra bundle for fullness.

Will the hair shed or tangle?

Minimal shedding is normal during the first wash. Excessive shedding or tangling usually means the hair has been incorrectly cared for (washed without detangling, slept on cotton, or exposed to heavy oils). Follow our care guide and you'll experience neither.

How do I install the hair?

Sew-in, glue-in, tape-in, or clip-in — STRND LAB raw bundles are wefted and compatible with all install methods. We always recommend installation by a licensed stylist for the best result.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently we ship within the United States. International shipping is in the works — sign up for our email list to be notified.

What's your return policy?

Due to the nature of raw hair (hygiene + reuse), we accept returns only on unopened, unaltered bundles within 14 days of delivery. See our full refund policy.

How fast does shipping take?

Orders process in 1–2 business days and ship via USPS Priority (2–3 business days). You'll get a tracking link by email. Free shipping on orders over $150.
